Overview

Gmail Oops is a Chrome extension that helps you identify emails accidentally affected by Gmail keyboard shortcuts. This policy explains what data the extension accesses and how it is handled.

Data Collected

Gmail Oops collects and stores the following information locally on your device only:

• Email metadata: Subject line, sender name/address, and thread ID of emails that were open or selected when a Gmail keyboard shortcut fired
• Action log: Which keyboard shortcut was pressed and when

This data is stored using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API, which keeps it on your local machine and never transmits it to any server. Email body content is never accessed or stored.

Data Retention

All logged actions are automatically deleted after one hour. You can also manually export or clear all data at any time via the extension's Settings page.

Third-Party Data Sharing

Gmail Oops bundles InboxSDK, a third-party library for integrating with Gmail's interface. InboxSDK may send basic diagnostic and error-reporting data to its servers (api.inboxsdk.com) to maintain compatibility with Gmail. This communication is initiated by the InboxSDK library and is not controlled by Gmail Oops. No email content or personal information is shared with InboxSDK through this process.

Apart from InboxSDK, Gmail Oops does not transmit any data to external servers or third parties.

If this policy is updated, the "Last updated" date above will change. Significant changes will be noted in the extension's release notes.
